Summer Sports

It's nice to take a little break from
our rigorous hockey schedule after winter.

This year both boys played baseball.
Wesley loved playing.

Matthew's team only lost one game.

Even I got into the action with a
Mother son game

(He got me out multiple times and we lost.)

the boys took swimming lessons
and really enjoyed them.

We have also kept up our Wednesdays
with uncle Chad all summer.

Only now they play golf and we added grandpa to the mix.

Matthew also played junior golf with his hockey buddies.

We have been a little busier than I would like.
The boys love every minute of it.

We are in the process of getting back to our hockey now.

Brainerd

No summer would ever be complete
without our trip to Brainerd.

We go every year to visit with
Great grandma and great grandpa.
We feel so blessed to be
welcomed into their home and
pampered by all the beauty
of the lake, garden, and love.

Here are some pictures from
our trip at the bottom of
the hill :)

Our summertime happenings

Other than summer sports and vacationing
we have been bumming around...

Kids in Marine on St. Croix
We have made new friends over the summer
who let us explore there gardens and chickens.
I really miss having ours.  Taggert was enamored
by them.

Other than visiting our friends backyard
farms we go to Foxtail farms kids day.
They get to experience a real working vegetable farm.
And play zucchini bowling of course.

Beach days with cousin Campbell

Catching frogs and turtles are what we are about.
Here a turtle caught Wesley !
OUCH!

The boys got invited to a friends cabin this summer.
Which they enjoyed very much.

wagon rides!!

The county Fair!!

Its been a pretty good summer so far....

Summer vacation

I had high hopes of continuing on with our lessons
all through the summer.  All it has amounted to though
is reading a couple of good stories.  Now we are on
summer time.
After spending a few weeks letting the dust settle
and getting into the groove of summer
we took our annual trip to Duluth with grandma

Here are the fabulous highlights...

On our way up we stopped at Pattison State park
to check out the waterfalls

Tillie built a fairy house at our first park

Burgers at the Anchor bar.
the burger connoisseurs rated it tops

of course the main reason for this trip is to
swim in the hotel pool!!!

This year we checked out
It was just the right size for the kids to get a
good look around.
Taggert loved it there.

And He loved all the sea gulls

 We went to Gooseberry Falls
and hiked all around.

The boys are really into rocks this year
so we brought them to a very unique beach.
Iona's beach is composed of pink rocks so Tillie
was in too.

On the way home we found a
rest stop with the strangest echo.

We also went to the trailer to spend the
day with grandpa fishing and swimming.

I can't wait until next year!

Thank you MOM
we always have fun with you!
